In the fall, you'll want to visit this area for the German Village Oktoberfest, which entices attendees with music and the smell of bratwurst, sauerkraut and beer.

Ohio State University, one of the largest universities in the nation, is located three miles north of Downtown, and there's a lot more going on here than just school. Catch a football game at the 105,000-seat Ohio Stadium, located along the Olentangy River on the western side of campus. OSU's Wexner Center for the Arts is an internationally renowned arts center presenting exhibitions, music, film and dance. To live near campus, search for apartments along High Street in South Campus Gateway, an area with modern entertainment, shopping and dining options.

For those who must be entertained, look for apartments northwest of downtown Columbus in the Arena District, properly named for its multiple entertainment facilities. Nationwide Arena is home to the Columbus Blue Jackets, Ohio's only National Hockey League team, as well as the Columbus Destroyers, the Arena Football League team. Also, see top touring music acts at the Nationwide Arena and the LC Pavilion, or catch a movie in the Arena Grande Theatre.
